Recent Developments for Urban Seismic Disaster Risk Reduction in Taiwan

臺灣都會區地震防減災對策的新發展

 Considering high population density and active economic activities in most of urban areas in Taiwan, therefore, a scenario-based strategy for seismic risk reduction is essential to satisfy demand of the general public, “a safer homeland”. In order to keep cities safe, some new methodologies have been introduced to enhance risk identification and risk reduction for the next big quake. For example, applying finer mesh to estimate seismic potential risk helps to provide a closer look at urban vulnerabilities like lifelines, land use, types of buildings and population density distribution. Based on the outputs from the urban vulnerability analysis, they pinpoint where and how seismic risk in urban areas.

  考量臺灣都會地區高人口密度及快速經濟發展活動,「情境式地震防減災對策」是滿足人民尋求「安居樂業」的重要風險分析工具。為了達成此一目標,近年來透過新技術的導入,目前相關成果可以應用地震災害風險評估與防減災對策。例如利用網格化地震災損評估技術,以針對都會區的地震脆弱度,如關鍵基礎設施、土地使用、建築形式與人口密度等因子,提出如何減災之建議。
