| During the past decade, Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies including machine learning algorithms have drastically developed with the improvement in computational performance, the exponential increase of training data required for appropriate learning, and the emergence/improvement of effective learning algorithms.
Under the above circumstances, many distinctive AI-related research projects are ongoing in a variety application fields in Japan.
This talk will briefly overview a historical background of AI research in Japan and introduce some typical research projects especially on (i) health care for older adults, (ii) body motion evaluation for athletes, and (iii) rescue robots.
How to apply conventional/novel machine learning algorithms to the above projects are also presented. |
