摘 要
Abstract—Wearable devices have increasingly been used in
applications such as rehabilitation exercises, body fitness,
physiological signal monitoring, and interactive games. In many
such applications, multiple wearable devices are worn on the user,
which form a wireless body sensor network to collect data of the
user. The problem is that the body can easily obstruct the
transmission of the radio signals from the wearable devices,
thereby significantly reducing the success rate of data
communication from the sensor nodes to the sinks. In this paper,
we consider a wearable exercise monitoring system that places
multiple sinks around the user to ensure transmission success
rate. The key challenge is to determine the number of sinks
required and their locations. This sink placement problem is
modeled as a coverage problem in 3D space, and a heuristic
algorithm is proposed to solve the problem. Experiments show
that our system can ensure an almost 100% packet success rate.
