Development of Seismic Technology for Buildings and Bridges in Taiwan

臺灣建築與橋樑耐震技術之最新發展

 Located at the Pacific Seismic Belt, Taiwan constantly suffers the threat of earthquakes. This speech focuses on three major axes of research for disaster prevention, namely seismic design and retrofitting, safety monitoring and early warning, scenario simulation and risk assessment. Introductory remarks are given to the earthquake precursor, early warning systems, disaster assessment, seismic assessment and retrofitting, and innovation of construction methods and materials. The aim of this presentation is to promote the understanding of general public on the earthquake resistant technology for buildings and bridges in Taiwan.

  臺灣位處太平洋地震帶之上,面臨地震災害的威脅確實是不容小覷,在本次演講將針對臺灣地震防災科研發之三大主軸:耐震設計評估與補強、安全監測與預警、境況模擬與風險評估進行簡介。從地震發生前兆之研究與預警系統、災害評估,到結構耐震評估與強技術之建立,以及未來新建築工法與材料之研發,提供與會人員了解臺灣建築與橋梁耐震技術之現況發展與未來展望。
